Wanyama targets coaching career with UEFA license plan

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has taken a major step toward life after football by planning to pursue his UEFA A coaching license this summer in the United Kingdom, as the Kenyan legend prepares for a future in management.
Wanyama, who already completed his UEFA B license in 2024 through the Northern Ireland Football Federation, says the next stage of his coaching education is key to shaping his post-playing career.
“I have already done UEFA B and will be undertaking UEFA A in the summer,” Wanyama said. “After I get the badges, the plan is to be a coach in the future.”
The former Tottenham and Southampton midfielder remains one of Kenya’s most celebrated football exports and hopes his experience at the highest level can guide the next generation. “Football has given me a lot,” he added, “and I want to pass that knowledge on as a coach.”
