Wanyama seals emotional Southampton return

Victor Wanyama has agreed to return to Southampton in February 2026, rejoining the Premier League side where he first made his mark in English football. The former Kenya captain accepted the move this week, aiming to bolster the Saints’ midfield as they push for stability in the second half of the season.
Wanyama, who previously made over 90 appearances for Southampton and scored memorable goals including a long-range strike against Tottenham, said the comeback “feels like coming home.” He added, “Southampton gave me a platform in England, and I’m ready to give everything again.”
Club officials welcomed the reunion. “Victor brings leadership and experience,” a team representative noted.
After spells in Scotland, the Premier League and MLS, the 34-year-old now looks set to roll back the years at St Mary’s, hoping his familiarity with the club can spark a strong finish to the campaign.
