Wanjala speaks after Valencia debut, targets Harambee Stars

Kenyan winger Amos Wanjala has broken his silence after making his first-team debut for Valencia on Saturday in La Liga, saying the milestone has strengthened his ambition to earn a Harambee Stars call-up.

Wanjala featured off the bench in Valencia’s league match at the Mestalla, becoming one of the youngest Kenyans to appear in Spain’s top flight. “It was a dream come true,” Wanjala said. “I’ve worked hard for this moment and I’m grateful to the coach for trusting me.”

The teenager added that national team football remains a key goal. “Representing Kenya would mean everything,” he noted. “I believe performances like this can open that door.”

A Valencia coach praised his composure, saying Wanjala “showed confidence and discipline on a big stage.” Kenyan analysts also backed his progress, insisting consistent minutes in Spain could fast-track his rise with the national team.
