Tribunal orders fresh probe into Gor–Nairobi clash

Kenya’s Sports Disputes Tribunal has ordered a fresh investigation into the abandoned Gor Mahia vs Nairobi United match, dealing a setback to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) after questioning the handling of the controversial fixture.

The clash was halted earlier this season amid disputes surrounding match circumstances, prompting disciplinary decisions that were later challenged. The tribunal ruled that the matter requires a new, thorough review to establish what led to the stoppage.

“The case needs proper examination before a final decision is made,” the tribunal stated in its ruling.

FKF officials acknowledged the directive and confirmed they will cooperate with the process. “We will respect the tribunal’s decision and follow the required procedures,” a federation representative said.

Gor Mahia officials also welcomed the move. “A fair review is important for the integrity of the competition,” a club source noted.

The renewed probe now places the controversial fixture back under scrutiny as authorities attempt to clarify the events that led to the match’s abandonment.
