Thompson’s rapid 9.75s run still pending ratification

Jamaica’s Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson clocked a stunning 9.75 seconds in the 100m earlier this season, but the world-leading time has not yet been officially confirmed.

Athletics authorities are reviewing technical factors, including wind readings and timing systems, before ratifying the performance.

“It’s a phenomenal sprint if everything checks out,” a track analyst said.

Once approved, the run could rank among the fastest times ever recorded in the 100m.
