Talanta Stadium Earthworks Hit Key AFCON 2027 Mark

Kenya’s Talanta Stadium project reached a major construction milestone this week as earthworks at the Nairobi site were substantially completed, boosting preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Contractors confirmed that bulk excavation and ground levelling are now advanced, paving the way for foundation works on the 60,000-seater arena set to host AFCON matches. Officials say the progress keeps the project within schedule as Kenya co-hosts the tournament.
“We are encouraged by the speed and quality of work on site,” a government representative said, noting the stadium is central to the country’s AFCON plans. Engineers added that drainage and substructure phases will begin next.
With visible transformation at the site, Talanta Stadium is steadily taking shape as a flagship venue for the 2027 continental showpiece.
