Sichenje credits Harambee Stars spell for Charlton move

Kenya defender Collins Sichenje has revealed that his rise with the Harambee Stars played a decisive role in securing his January 2026 move to Charlton Athletic, where he now features in England’s League One.
Speaking after joining the London club, Sichenje said his international exposure helped put him on the radar. “Playing for the national team changed everything,” he explained. “Those matches gave me confidence and visibility.”
The 20-year-old impressed during recent international windows, earning regular minutes and showcasing his versatility at the back. “Facing top African forwards prepared me for this level,” Sichenje added, noting that the intensity helped him adapt quickly in England.
Charlton sources believe his composure and physicality fit their long-term plans, while Kenyan football analysts see the move as a reward for consistency. “This is the right step,” a local coach said. “International football opened the door, but his discipline earned the chance.”
