Shumah hat-trick lifts Power Dynamos in derby thriller

Kenyan striker Moses Shumah fired a stunning hat-trick on March 8 to lead Power Dynamos to a dramatic 3–2 victory over rivals Zesco United in Zambia’s “Electricity Derby” at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. The 23-year-old forward delivered a clinical display, turning the heated clash into a personal showcase and pushing his league tally to 12 goals — two ahead of Red Arrows’ Albert Kangwanda.

“I always believed hard work and consistency would take me to bigger stages,” Shumah said after the match. “Moving to Zambia was a challenge I wanted.”

The former Kakamega Homeboyz star joined Power Dynamos in July 2025 and has quickly become the club’s attacking spearhead. “Every match is a chance to prove I can perform at the highest level,” he added.

Shumah, who scored 34 goals in 60 games in Kenya before his move, now hopes to continue his scoring streak in the upcoming clash with FC Muza as Dynamos push for the title.
