Musingu and St Joseph’s Storm Into Handball Semis as Kisumu Games Heat Up

Two handball giants are through. The rest are playing catch-up.
Musingu High School and St Joseph’s Boys High School Kitale booked their places in the semi-finals of the boys’ handball competition at the 2026 KSSSA National Term One Games in Kisumu, confirming their status as the tournament’s dominant forces.
Musingu made it look easy. They beat Kenyatta 36-21 in a commanding display at Kisumu Polytechnic. St Joseph’s Boys weren’t far behind — 29-21 over Saint Mary’s Yala to advance. Neither side was seriously threatened.
On the girls’ side, St Joseph’s Girls Kitale stamped their authority too — running riot against Sidindi Girls 65-3 in rugby 15s, leaving no doubt about where the power in that competition lies.
The games run from April 5-12 across Kisumu City. Semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, with preliminary matches on Thursday to confirm pool placings.
Musingu versus whoever comes next. St Joseph’s versus the field. For schools handball in Kenya, these are the names that show up every year — and so far, 2026 is no different.
