Munyua’s darts fairytale earns Chelsea dream day

Kenyan darts trailblazer David Munyua capped his World Championship breakthrough with a long-awaited trip to Stamford Bridge, hoping to watch Chelsea live for the first time after his run at Alexandra Palace put him on the map. Munyua stunned 18th seed Mike De Decker before losing 3-0 to Kevin Doets in round two, a campaign he called “life changing.”

“This is a life changing moment… for darts players across Africa,” Munyua said, urging more backing for the sport on the continent. He also looked ahead to his Chelsea visit with a grin: “I hope everybody is waiting to see me at Stamford Bridge… I’ve obviously never seen Chelsea live.”

A veterinarian back home in Kenya, Munyua believes the attention can open doors. “Africa needs to embrace darts… put their funds into it,” he added.
