Motsepe ‘Sick and Tired’ of False AFCON 2025 Allegations

CAF president Patrice Motsepe says he is done engaging with criticism over the AFCON 2025 final ruling — and he made no attempt to hide his frustration Thursday.
“I’m sick and tired. I’m not going to keep wasting my time continuing to respond to false and unfounded allegations and accusations that are just repeated all the time,” Motsepe said.
CAF had previously released a statement confirming it would respect the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling, which confirmed Morocco as champions. But criticism has continued. Senegal even displayed the AFCON 2025 trophy publicly ahead of their friendly against Peru in Paris on March 28.
Motsepe says the organisation must operate within established regulations and protect the credibility of all 54 African member associations.
