Mother-daughter duo eye Safari Rally boost

Kenya’s mother-and-daughter rally crew are banking on a crucial car upgrade ahead of next month’s Safari Rally, hoping the improvements will strengthen their challenge in one of the toughest events on the calendar.

The pair confirmed this week that their machine has undergone key mechanical enhancements designed to handle the punishing terrain of the WRC round in Naivasha. After battling reliability issues in previous outings, they believe the changes could make a decisive difference.

“We’ve worked hard on the car, and we feel more prepared than ever,” the driver said. Her daughter and co-driver added: “Safari is demanding, but we’re ready to fight.”

A team technician noted that improved suspension and durability “should give them better consistency,” as the duo aim to turn family teamwork into a competitive edge on home soil.
