McCarthy Unveils Harambee Stars FIFA Series Plan

Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has outlined an ambitious FIFA Series strategy this week in Nairobi as Kenya steps up preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which it will co-host.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming international window, McCarthy said the March FIFA Series will help him assess new players, build chemistry and test tactical systems against quality opposition. “We need strong matches to measure ourselves,” he said. “This is about building a team ready for AFCON 2027.”
The former Manchester United first-team coach stressed that competition for places will be intense. “No one has a guaranteed spot. Players must prove they deserve to wear the badge,” he added.
Kenya are using the FIFA Series as a key rehearsal platform, with McCarthy determined to shape a disciplined, competitive squad capable of challenging Africa’s elite on home soil in 2027.
