McCarthy tipped for Chiefs job amid crisis

Benni McCarthy is being backed to take over Kaizer Chiefs as pressure grows on the club’s current coaches, with the South African giants enduring another poor spell.

The Harambee Stars boss recently revealed his desire to coach Chiefs, raising speculation he could exit Kenya before 2027. Former coach Stuart Baxter endorsed him, saying, “You could bring Benni McCarthy… but you must trust him.”

Chiefs’ struggles underline the urgency, with just one trophy in 11 years and recent finishes of 10th and ninth. “If you’re going to get sacked, do it for what you believe in,” Baxter added.
