Mariga hails McCarthy’s fresh blueprint for AFCON 2027
McDonald Mariga says Benni McCarthy is rewriting Kenya’s AFCON 2027 build-up in 2026, introducing a sharper tactical identity and long-term vision to prepare Harambee Stars for the home tournament.
“There’s structure, discipline, a clear way of playing now,” Mariga noted.
He also pointed to a mindset shift: “He’s giving young players confidence and responsibility.”
Unlike previous cycles, Kenya’s camp now runs on consistency and defined roles. With AFCON 2027 approaching, McCarthy’s reset is seen as a bold attempt to turn potential into a competitive edge on home ground.
