Majaka Cools Title Talk as Homeboyz Mount Quiet KPL Challenge

Oliver Majaka is not getting carried away. The Kakamega Homeboyz forward is urging calm in the title conversation — even as the team quietly strings together the kind of form that demands to be taken seriously.

Homeboyz sit third in the FKF Premier League with 42 points, riding a 12-match unbeaten run that has dragged them firmly into the picture. Majaka scored in their 3-0 win over Mathare United on April 4, making it another decisive contribution in a crucial stretch of the season.

The leaders hold 58 points. The gap is real. But so is the momentum.

Head coach Patrick Odhiambo isn’t getting carried away either. “This league does not reward moments — it rewards consistency over time,” he said. “We have to stay sharp mentally, not just physically.”

The message has landed in the dressing room. “There is no time to relax because the league is very tight,” defender Boniface Onyango added.

May 30 is when this season ends. Homeboyz have matches to play, points to take. They’re not shouting about the title. They don’t need to.
