Kipchoge wins 13-year court battle over Eldoret land

Olympic marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge and three fellow Kenyan athletes have won a 13-year legal dispute over a Sh100 million parcel of land in Eldoret after a court ruled in their favor.
The case, which began in 2013, centered on ownership of the valuable property in Uasin Gishu County. After years of hearings and legal arguments, the court confirmed the athletes as the rightful owners.
Kipchoge welcomed the ruling, calling it a long-awaited moment of justice. “This has been a long journey, but we are grateful that the truth has finally prevailed,” he said.
One of the athletes involved also expressed relief after the verdict. “We remained patient and trusted the legal process,” he said. “Today’s decision brings closure.”
The ruling ends more than a decade of legal uncertainty surrounding the contested land.
