Kenya Earns Refereeing Boost With Five FIFA Additions

Kenya has received a major officiating boost after five more referees were added to FIFA’s international panel, while several experienced officials retained their status ahead of the new season. The announcement was made this week as FIFA released its updated list.

The new additions strengthen Kenya’s growing presence in continental and global competitions. “This is recognition of our improving standards,” a Football Kenya Federation official said. “It shows our referees are trusted at the highest level.”

Top Kenyan referees already on the panel were also retained, underlining consistency in performance. One senior official described the news as motivating. “It pushes us to work harder and represent the country with pride,” he said.

A refereeing instructor welcomed the development, noting its wider impact. “More FIFA referees mean better exposure and growth for the game locally,” he said.

The expanded list is expected to increase Kenyan representation in CAF and FIFA tournaments in the coming year.
