Job Ochieng Makes Historic La Liga Debut for Sociedad

Harambee Stars winger Job Ochieng made history on Saturday by becoming the third Kenyan to feature in La Liga after debuting for Real Sociedad. The forward came on in the 65th minute of Sociedad’s 3–1 home victory over Elche at the Reale Arena.

Ochieng was introduced with Sociedad leading 2–1 as the hosts dominated proceedings to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches and boost their push for European qualification.

“This is a proud moment for Kenyan football,” a Sociedad coach said after the game. An Elche representative admitted, “They controlled the match after the break and deserved the win.”

Ochieng’s appearance places him among a select group of Kenyans to have played in Spain’s top flight, marking a significant milestone in his career.
