Iwobi Praises Super Eagles Unity Ahead of AFCON Semi

Alex Iwobi has praised the strong unity within the Super Eagles as Nigeria prepare to face Morocco in the AFCON semi-final, describing team spirit as a key factor behind their impressive run at the tournament. The midfielder spoke on Monday, ahead of the decisive clash set to be played in Morocco, as Nigeria chase a place in the final.

Iwobi said the squad’s togetherness has driven their consistency throughout the competition. “Everyone is fighting for each other,” he told local media. “There are no egos in the camp and that’s why we’ve come this far.”

Nigeria reached the last four after a disciplined quarter-final performance, conceding just one goal in the knockout stages so far. Head coach José Peseiro also highlighted the group’s mentality, saying, “This team believes, and belief makes the difference at this level.”

Iwobi added that facing hosts Morocco will be a major test. “We respect them, but we fear nobody,” he said, as the Super Eagles look to continue their AFCON title push.
