Harambee Starlets Learn LA 2028 Qualifying Route as Draw Set for Wednesday

Kenya’s women will find out who stands between them and an Olympic debut on Wednesday afternoon.

The CAF draw for LA 2028 Olympic qualifying takes place at 3 PM Kenyan time at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt — live on CAFTV on YouTube. All 35 participating African nations, including Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, Cameroon, and Ghana, enter the pot.

Only two African teams will ultimately make it to Los Angeles. The qualifying process is five rounds long and brutally competitive.

For the Harambee Starlets, it’s personal. They’ve never been to the Olympics. A FIFA ban kept them out of Paris 2024 qualifying. Before that, Zambia ended their Tokyo 2020 dreams. This time, they want different. Wednesday’s draw tells them who they’ll need to beat to get there.
