Gor Mahia Title Push Gets Boost as Owino and Omondi Return to Training

Gor Mahia’s title charge got a timely boost Monday with defender Sylvester Owino and goalkeeper Byrne Omondi both back in light training after injury layoffs.
Owino limped off during the 3-1 win over Ulinzi Stars on March 15 and has missed several matches since, including Harambee Stars’ FIFA Series in Rwanda. Omondi has been out with a groin problem. The club confirmed both are progressing well.
Tuesday’s Tusker FC clash comes too soon for either to feature. But their returns matter for what comes next — Gor Mahia lead the FKF Premier League with 57 points from 26 games, two ahead of AFC Leopards who have a game in hand.
The title race is tight. Having their first-choice duo back could be the difference.
