Gor Mahia Chairman Takes FKF to Task Over Reversed Penalty and Early Whistle

Ambrose Rachier isn’t letting this one go.

The Gor Mahia chairman has formally written to the Football Kenya Federation demanding answers after Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Bandari at Kasarani ended in controversy. Referee Phanuel Omire awarded a penalty to Gor in the 85th minute — then flipped the decision after Bandari players protested. He also blew the final whistle with only two of five indicated stoppage-time minutes played.

Rachier didn’t mince words. “What influenced the change of that decision, and is that lawful?” he asked. But he’s keeping the fight formal. “I’ve written to the Federation about it. I don’t need to discuss it in public.”

Gor have lodged an official protest. The FKF must now respond. And with a derby on April 26 just around the corner, the tension is not going away.
