Former Harambee Stars coach reunites with Odhiambo in Lebanon

A former Harambee Stars head coach has reunited with Austin Odhiambo and three other Kenyan players after taking up a new role in the Lebanese league this week, marking a familiar partnership abroad.
The coach, whose move was confirmed in early February, has linked up with Odhiambo alongside Kenyan teammates already based in Lebanon, banking on their experience to stabilise his new squad. Odhiambo, who impressed under him during their time with the national team setup, is expected to play a key role.
“It’s good to work again with players who understand my philosophy,” the coach said after arriving. Odhiambo welcomed the reunion, noting that “having a coach who trusts you makes adaptation easier.” A club official added that the Kenyan quartet brings “energy and discipline” to the side.
The reunion follows a growing trend of Kenyan players moving to the Middle East in search of regular football. Observers believe the familiarity between coach and players could accelerate results.
With the season underway, all eyes will be on how quickly the Kenyan core makes an impact in Lebanon.
