Equatorial Classic Rally Preview

Daykin, Tundo and Duncan Ready for Equatorial Classic Battle

Taita Taveta is getting loud again. The 2026 Equatorial Classic Rally fires up May 1-3 — and this year’s battle for the top spot looks like a proper fight.

Piers Daykin arrives as defending champion. Last year he led from day one, winning all three opening stages in his Datsun 280Z with navigator Lloyd Destro. Ian Duncan — also in a 280Z — pushed hard all the way, finishing four minutes back at the end.

Then there’s Carl “Flash” Tundo. Kenya’s most decorated rally driver. He doesn’t come to these events to finish third.

“This terrain demands everything,” one team said ahead of the start. “There’s nowhere to hide.”

Three men. Three days. Taita Taveta sets the stage.
