Charlton slump 3-1 as Collins Sichenje sits out third straight match

Kenyan centre-back Collins Sichenje watched from the bench for a third consecutive game on Tuesday as Charlton Athletic slumped to a 3–1 Championship defeat at home to Portsmouth, delaying his eagerly anticipated debut in England’s second tier.
Sichenje, 22, who signed for the Addicks from Serbian side FK Vojvodina in February, was an unused substitute again as Charlton’s bid to avoid defeat in four straight matches fell apart at The Valley on February 17, 2026.
The hosts fell behind early — Terry Devlin opened the scoring after 22 minutes before Colby Bishop doubled the lead from the penalty spot, and Devlin struck again after the break to put the result beyond doubt. Jayden Fevrier added a consolation for Charlton in the 64th minute.
Manager Nathan Jones reshuffled his lineup in hopes of turning the game around, yet Sichenje remained sidelined, with the coach opting for a back three featuring Kayne Ramsey and Conor Coady.
Charlton sit 18th in the Championship table and will look to rebound when they face Southampton next, with Sichenje still chasing his first minutes in English football.
