Charlton Hold West Brom 1-1 as Sichenje Shines

Charlton Athletic secured a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night, with Collins Sichenje delivering a composed defensive display to help the Addicks earn a valuable away point.

West Brom took the lead just before halftime when George Campbell headed home from a corner, but Charlton responded with resilience. Lyndon Dykes struck with 20 minutes remaining, scoring his second goal for the club to seal the draw.

Introduced in the 35th minute after Lloyd Jones’ injury, Sichenje impressed at the back, helping Charlton withstand late pressure. “Collins was excellent when he came on. He showed real maturity,” said head coach Nathan Jones after the match.

The hosts nearly doubled their advantage early in the second half, but Josh Maja fired wide from close range.

“We showed character again away from home,” Jones added. West Brom boss Carlos Corberán admitted, “We had chances to win, but we didn’t take them.”
