CAF sets roadmap for AFCON 2027 tournament
The Confederation of African Football has confirmed fresh details for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, finalising key organisational plans as the continent builds toward its flagship event.
CAF said the framework ensures smooth preparation, competitive balance and timely infrastructure delivery ahead of the tournament. “Our objective is to stage an exceptional AFCON in 2027,” a senior official stated.
The competition will retain its 24-team format, with qualification and logistics now clearly outlined, giving participating nations certainty as the countdown begins.
