CAF: East Africa Must Beat Morocco’s Record — “There Is No Room for Failure”

CAF aren’t asking Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania to put on a good show. They want the best AFCON ever.
Acting Secretary-General Samson Adamu made that plain during the high-level Kampala meetings this week. “We want this to be the most successful AFCON, and I can confirm we have the strongest level of commitment,” he said. Then came the harder line: “There is no room for failure.”
The bar is Morocco 2025 — a tournament that delivered a 90% revenue increase on previous editions, record fan engagement, and infrastructure that impressed the world. East Africa has to match it. And then go further.
CAF are backing the ambition with resources: dedicated personnel deployed to all three host nations, regular coordination meetings, and close monitoring of every deadline. The words are strong. August’s inspection will show if the foundations match them.
