Blake, Lemngole and Asher-Smith shine at Millrose

Akeem Blake, Doris Lemngole and Dina Asher-Smith delivered standout wins at the Millrose Games in New York on Saturday, headlining a star-studded night of indoor athletics. The trio impressed as the meeting opened the 2026 season for several global stars.

Jamaica’s Blake powered to victory in the men’s 60m, holding off a strong field to underline his sprint credentials. “I wanted to start the year strong,” Blake said, adding that his focus is building momentum.

Kenya’s Lemngole dominated the women’s 3,000m, controlling the race before pulling clear late. “I trusted my pace and finished hard,” she said after clocking a world-leading time.

In the sprints, Britain’s Asher-Smith claimed the women’s 60m, praising the competition. “This was the perfect test early in the season,” she noted.

Athletics analyst said the Millrose results “set the tone for an exciting indoor campaign,” with several athletes already showing championship form.
