Blak Blad Make History — Now the Real Test Comes Against Kabras

Nobody gave Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad a chance. They’ve made it to the Kenya Cup semi-final anyway.
The students edged Strathmore Leos 27-25 in a heart-stopper at Strathmore Complex — Benjamin Rugar’s corner try bringing it level at 25-25, then Daniel Oyoo coolly converting from a brutal angle to send the crowd into chaos. Blad’s first-ever Kenya Cup semi-final. History made.
Now comes defending champions Kabras RFC at ASK Showground in Kakamega on April 25. An entirely different challenge. Kabras are five-time winners with 47 consecutive Kenya Cup victories behind them. They ground past Blak Blad 26-16 earlier this season.
Set-piece discipline, game management under pressure, and keeping their composure on unfamiliar ground — that’s what this week’s preparation is all about. The stage is set for the biggest match in Blak Blad’s history.
