ADAK urges accurate reporting to protect clean sport

The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) has called for responsible and accurate reporting on doping cases, warning this week in Nairobi that misinformation is damaging athletes and undermining the fight for clean sport across the country.

Speaking during a media engagement forum, ADAK officials stressed that proper context and verified facts are vital as Kenya battles a rise in anti-doping violations. “Accurate reporting protects both clean athletes and the integrity of sport,” an ADAK representative said. “Speculation only harms the process.”

The agency noted that several Kenyan athletes are currently serving bans, a situation that has drawn global scrutiny. “We must separate confirmed violations from allegations,” a senior official added, urging journalists to rely on official findings.

Sports stakeholders echoed the call, saying fair coverage will help rebuild trust while reinforcing education and prevention efforts nationwide.
